Shopify has introduced an exciting new enhancement for merchants: the ability to include sub-collections within automated (smart) collections, a highly anticipated feature that significantly streamlines product management.
Previously, Shopify's automated collections could only consider products directly assigned to a single collection. With this update, Shopify has empowered merchants to include products from multiple subcategories or sub-collections within a broader automated collection. This means you can now create more nuanced and precise product groupings with less manual effort.
For example, a clothing store previously had to individually assign products to collections such as "Men's Jackets" and "Women's Jackets." Now, with the inclusion of sub-categories, these collections can automatically roll up into a broader "All Jackets" automated collection.
